Appilates is the brainchild of Pilates Instructor Dell, her partner Software Developer Stephan, and friend Communications Lead Alice — a team united by a shared passion for Pilates, wellness, and technology.
The idea was born when Dell, after years of teaching Pilates at her home studio, came to understand how difficult it was to find software that truly met the needs of Pilates professionals. Existing systems were built for gyms or general fitness studios — none captured the depth and personalisation that Pilates instructors provide their clients.
Sparking motivation for Stephan, whose background includes decades of high-security software development for major institutions in banking, insurance and medicine. Together, they began building a tool designed specifically for Pilates studios — one that simplifies operations, supports client success, and reflects the values of the Pilates community.
Appilates blends Dell’s practical studio insight, Stephan’s technical precision, and Alice’s clear, purposeful communication. The result is the world’s first dedicated Pilates studio management app — built by Pilates instructors, for Pilates instructors.
